About Ad Hoc Links

What is an ad hoc link?

Ad hoc links are a way to send files manually. You can use an ad hoc link with any media file you have uploaded to Crafthub, even if it is not attached to a product listing. Ad hoc links are helpful if you want to send a file to someone without making them purchase the item through your Etsy shop. Each ad hoc link costs one transaction.

How do I make one?

  1. Go to your media page.
  2. Open the media file you want to send by clicking the title.
  3. Click the red "create ad hoc link" button.
  4. Copy and paste the link into an email to send it.
  5. Ad hoc links follow the same expiration rules as automatically generated download links. You can track your ad hoc links on your reports page.

Hello,
I have a question. I am trying to load up my files but some of my large files have been divided into sections due to size. It will only allow me to load one file per listing. If I try to add a second one, it says "replace existing file". What do I do? I am not sure of what this ad hoc thing is. Thanks for your assistance

Think of each media listing as an individual file. A media listing is where you go to edit the file's information.

If a product in your shop has multiple files associated with it, that single product listing will have multiple media items attached to it.

To attach media (files) to a listing you click on the product through the "products" page. It will bring you to a new window where you select which files you would like to associate with that product. You can turn on multiple media items.
